Why Is My Dryer Making a Loud Noise?
If your dryer is making a loud noise, some most common causes include:
- Worn out drum bearings
- Worn out motor bearings
- A clogged lint filter
- An unbalanced load in the drum
- An improperly installed belt.
To determine the cause of the loud noise, start by removing the dryer’s back panel and visually inspect the internal components. Look for any signs of wear or damage on the drum rollers, belt, idler pulley wheel and motor bearings. If you cannot identify the source of the noise from this inspection, try running a cycle with an empty load to determine if it is caused by an unbalanced load.
If the noise persists after inspecting the internal components, you may need to replace a part or two. If the drum rollers are worn out, they should be replaced as soon as possible to prevent further damage from occurring. Likewise, if the belt is worn out or improperly installed, it should be replaced with a new one. If the motor bearings are worn out, they should be replaced as well.

Samsung’s quality is not stellar as most think and you really should not have to put $700.00 in a two year old refrigerator.
